As a doctor of internal medicine, Lee Roof, MD, focuses on the prevention and treatment of adult diseases. He is committed to continuity of treatment and works closely with other physicians, including off-island specialists, to coordinate all aspect of a patients care. Dr. Roof, who joined Whidbey Generals medical staff in 1982, was instrumental in developing our hospitalist program, which cares exclusively for acutely ill hospitalized patients. As Quality and Patient Safety Medical Director, he helps implement evidence-based protocols to improve care at Whidbey General. He also chairs the hospitals Quality Improvement Committee, a multidisciplinary group that comprises medical staff, community members, hospital staff and board members.
