I was born in England to American parents, but was raised here in Portland, attending Grant High School, the University of Oregon, and then medical school here at Oregon Health & Science University. I spent four years doing my residency training in Milwaukee, WI where I met my wife.
We returned to Portland in 1989 where I started my career with Kaiser Permanente. We have two children in high school and a large extended family in the area. My uncle retired from Kaiser Permanente 15 years ago.
About my practice
I have been in the Kaiser Permanente Department of Physiatry here in Portland for 22 years now. I specialize in the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of a variety of chronic neuromusculoskeletal conditions and overuse/mechanical sports injuries. I also perform many electromyographic/nerve conduction studies.
There are many conditions I see for which there may not be a cure, so my team and I do a lot of education and treatment to maximize our patient's overall functioning. How I thrive
I thrive by exercising regularly, eating healthy foods, spending quality time with my friends and family, getting outdoors, gardening and being involved with a wide variety of sports activities.
