Brief Intro

Dr. Egan is a board-certified orthopaedic specialist and treats patients of all ages with conditions of the musculoskeletal system and spine, including developmental and degenerative disorders and acute, traumatic ailments such as sports-related injuries. He also provides great expertise in the care of occupational injuries, helping employees to regain their health and productivity and return to the workplace. As a result of his knowledge and experience in this area, he has participated on panels for some of Essex Countyâ€™s largest workerâ€™s comp contracts, garnering a reputation for deftly handling the toughest cases as well as the toughest patients. Dr. Egan serves as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry/New Jersey Medical School. Additionally, he is an Associate Attending at The Hospital Center at Orange and an Assistant Attending at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Dr. Egan began his medical schooling at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico, and then transferred to the State University of New York at Buffalo College of Medicine, where he completed his education and received his medical degree. His postgraduate training includes a general surgery internship at Millard Fillmore Hospital in Buffalo and an orthopaedic surgery residency at Akron City Hospital in Ohio and Bronx Lebanon Hospital, the latter affiliated with the prestigious Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He also did a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at The Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City.
