Dr. Powell is a Board Certified Pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Powell attended Syracuse University for her undergraduate education and obtained her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. She returned to New Jersey where she completed her pediatric residency and chief residency training at UMDNJ-University Hospital in Newark. She spent the next several years practicing at a Community Health Center in New Jersey where she helped to train medical students, pediatric nurse practitioner students and pediatric residents. She is the mother of three children.
