Dr. Kenneth T. Bastin is a board-certified radiation oncologist currently serving as President of Radiation Oncology Associates (ROA). Dr. Bastin graduated summa cum laude from Western Kentucky University with degrees in physics and chemistry. He then attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, which included a semester research fellowship at Oxford University in England. Dr. Bastin completed a residency and fellowship at the University of Wisconsin in Radiation Oncology and Stereotactic Radiosurgery. He also earned an MBA from Northwestern (Kellogg Graduate School of Management) with a focus on healthcare strategy.
Dr. Bastin serves as Clinical Director of Radiation Oncology at Aurora St Luke's Medical Center, program coordinator of the Gamma Knife Center, and Director of CyberKnife radiosurgery. He has extensive experience in radiosurgery, high-dose-rate brachytherapy and neuro-oncology. He has published more than forty manuscripts and abstracts with several national and international scientific presentations.
Dr. Bastin is married with a son. He enjoys competitive chess and competing in the Badger State Games, where he has earned several medals and Masters All-American Track and Field status. Dr. Bastin has retired from powerlifting and has won a national Masters AAU championship.
Dr. Bastin's medical philosophy is to "communicate clearly to patients and their family members, and offer cutting-edge treatment to patients when the technology is appropriate."
