Dr. Joseph O'Brien has been a member of New Jersey Physicians, LLC since 2001. He was born and raised in Rhode Island. His father was born in County Wexford, Ireland and came to the U.S. in 1962, and his mother was born in Providence, Rhode Island to Italian immigrants.
Although he never had a mentor or family member who practiced medicine, Dr. O'Brien often felt drawn to the art and the challenges that a career in medicine would bring. In medical school and later during his resident training, his focus was to become a primary care physician, not only because it required a broad knowledge of all the disciplines of medicine, but it stressed a strong relationship between the doctor and the patient.
At New Jersey Physicians, he has had the pleasure of becoming health care provider to many members of our community and their families. He has given talks at local senior centers, the Clifton Town Hall, and our affiliated hospitals. He has special interest in diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and geriatrics as well as helping smokers quit their habit. Dr. O'Brien is currently accepting new patients looks forward to meeting with you and establishing a rewarding relationship.
