Brief Intro

"As a fourth generation physician, I have learned that the care and concern for the patient you have been given the responsibility and honor to treat is most essential. Patients want and deserve adequate time and explanations, and need to be a part of the decision making process." In 1982, I received my medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. My residency in orthopaedic surgery was completed at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. I then completed a fellowship in adult reconstruction surgery and joint replacement through the Institute of Bone and Joint Surgery and the Harrington Arthritis Research Center in Phoenix, Az. I am board certified in orthopaedic surgery. I take special interest in joint preservation, reconstruction surgery, arthroplasty and total joint replacement of the hip and knee. Being a specialist in adult reconstruction surgery of the hip and knee has allowed me to concentrate all my efforts on research and studies on the one area. This focus has given me the knowledge and technical skills to best serve my patients and colleagues. Away from the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three children, golfing, gardening (vegetables), home care on my rural lot, cooking and entertaining friends and traveling when possible.
