Dr. John Turner is a seventh generation Texan. He has also lived in Oklahoma, and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. He then earned his Medical Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and has practiced Internal Medicine since 1993, mostly in the Clear Lake area, until accepting a one-year Fellowship in Sleep Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, which he completed in 2009.
He is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Sleep Medicine, and was recently recertified in Internal Medicine. He received the Top Doc award from University of Texas Medical Branch in 2001 for his work with teaching medical students in the clinical setting. In 2004, he was elected to become a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He practices outpatient Internal Medicine and Sleep Medicine, and enjoys developing long-term relationships with patients. Dr. Turner treats his patients with respect, compassion, and has a great sense of humor that he mixes in with the serious business of medicine. He feels that laughter truly is a form of good medicine. He is a doctor that truly loves to take care of patients. In his spare time, he enjoys restoring classic cars, outdoor activities, snow skiing, and spending time with family and friends.
