Brief Intro

Dr. Joanne Crenshaw is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been in practice since July 1997. Born and raised in New York, she graduated from Cornell University summa cum laude with an undergraduate degree in the Biological Sciences. She then attended Cornell University Medical College where she graduated with a medical degree with Honors in Research. She subsequently completed an Internal Medicine Internship at Mount Sinai Hospital and an Ophthalmology Residency and Glaucoma Fellowship at the Cornell University Medical College. During her ophthalmology residency, she served as Chief Resident and was recognized by The Glaucoma Foundation for her participation in glaucoma screenings throughout New York City. After her Glaucoma fellowship, Dr. Crenshaw was the glaucoma specialist at The Eye Center in Warren, New Jersey. She then moved with her family to Virginia and joined Fairfax Eye Associates in Vienna, VA. In October 2003, Dr. Crenshaw established her private ophthalmology practice in Sterling, Virginia. Although Dr. Crenshaw has advanced training in all aspects of general ophthalmology, her primary subspecialty is the medical management of glaucoma.
