Brief Intro

I grew up in a family of doctors, listening as interesting cases were discussed and eager to become a doctor myself. I earned my medical degree from Beijing Medical University, a school that accepts only the top 1 percent of applicants. After two years of practice I had so many patients with complications due to diabetes that I became interested in the disease. I spent the next 10 years in diabetes research, including working in the famous Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston at Harvard Medical School. For the past 15 years I have focused on primary care adult medicine, caring for a diverse population of patients age 18 and older. After finishing my internal medicine residency at Brown University in 1999 I began working in an inner city community health center in Anchorage, Alaska. Since 2001, Ive worked in a variety of HMO practices, from metropolitan Massachusetts and Hawaii to the Veterans Administration in Northern California and NorthBay Healthcare. I have extensive experience helping my patients manage chronic diseases. Im a good listener and I encourage my patients to participate in their own care.
