Dr. Majersik is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Utah, School of Medicine. After receiving her B.S. in Physics from Harvey Mudd College (Claremont, CA), she attended medical school at University of Vermont (Burlington, VT) where she fell in love with the neurosciences. She completed internship and neurology residency at the University of Utah and vascular neurology fellowship at University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI). While at Michigan, she earned a master's in clinical research design and biostatistics through their School of Public Health.
In 2008, Dr. Majersik returned to Salt Lake City to establish her vascular neurology practice within the Stroke Center at the University of Utah. Her clinical practice includes evaluating and treating acute strokes in the hospital and emergency department, managing patients on the inpatient general neurology service, and providing outpatient consultation in the stroke clinic, including urgent referrals. She plans to use her training in research methodology to expand her research into the genetic underpinnings of stroke in Utah. She has a particular interest in genetic vascular malformations that can lead to stroke.
