Dr. Jeffrey Rinkoff is a board-certified physician and ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of eye diseases affecting the vitreous, macula and retina. He attended Rice University, received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in 1979 and completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at the Cullen Eye Institute, Baylor College of Medicine where he received the Goar Award for Excellence in Ophthalmology. Dr. Rinkoff then completed a two-year vitreoretinal fellowship in 1986 at Duke University where he trained under Dr. Robert Machemer, the father of modern vitreoretinal surgery. Dr. Rinkoff has contributed to his profession through numerous publications, lectures, resident training and clinical trials on diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity, ocular melanoma and intraocular infections of the eye. He is a member of the Retina Society and the American Society of Retinal Surgeons. Dr. Rinkoff is an avid classical guitarist and enjoys hiking, mountain biking, tennis, snowboarding and gardening with his wife.
