Dr. Jay Carson is a native of South Dakota who attended South Dakota State University in Brookings for his undergraduate work. He then conducted research, attended medical school and trained in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Dr. Carson joined Premier Bone & Joint Centers and the University of Wyoming as a Team Physician in 2000
While focusing on the treatment of Sports Medicine related issues and Total Joint Replacement, Dr. Carson also enjoys foot and ankle treatment, fracture care and general orthopaedics. Dr. Carson strives to work with his patients to explore both non-operative and operative approaches to their musculoskeletal concerns.
Dr. Carson is a Fellow with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and is Board Certified. Dr. Carson also has a sub-specialty certification in sports medicine.
Dr. Carson serves the communities of Laramie, Cheyenne, Riverton and Rock Springs.
He enjoys skiing, cycling and is married with two children.
