Brief Intro

Jason Dominguez attended The University of Texas Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas, earning a bachelor’s in biology with a minor in chemistry. He received his master’s in physician assistant studies from Texas Tech School of Allied Health Sciences in Midland, Texas. Prior to dermatology, Jason practiced in gastroenterology and primary care. He was also a full-time faculty member at Texas Tech School Health Science Center. Jason is fluent in Spanish and has 20 years of experience as a clinician. He practices medical dermatology and performs minor skin surgeries. His favorite condition to treat is acne. “One of my main goals is to educate my patients on skin cancer detection and prevention,” says Jason. He is certified in clinical research and is Diplomate Fellow of the Society of Dermatology Assistants. Jason’s favorite quote is by author and neurologist, Dr. Oliver Sacks who said, “there is only one cardinal rule: one must always listen to the patient.” In addition to providing care to his patients, Jason provides clinical education support as an instructor. He is an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor for Healthcare Providers and ACLS Instructors as well as a current Basic Life Support Instructor for Healthcare / Non-HealthCare Personnel and BLS Instructors. Jason is also a clinical instructor for physician assistant students rotating in dermatology. He received the 2021-2022 Distinguished Clinical Instructor for Hardin Simmons Physician Assistant Program Award. He also serves as a mentor to students who are interested in medical careers.
