Brief Intro

Jason Gilster, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon, whose practice focuses entirely on the treatment of venous disease. This includes consulting with and caring for patients with venous insufficiency, varicose veins, spider veins, DVT, and venous ulcers. He has over 20 years of experience practicing surgery in Portland, Oregon.Over the years, Dr. Gilster has developed expertise in minimally invasive management of surgical problems. During this time he developed a keen interest in caring for patients with vein issues and has been performing vein procedures in his practice for many years. Dr. Gilster is passionate about helping patients manage their journey to treat venous disease in the most practical and minimally invasive manner. In October 2018, Dr. Gilster joined the Inovia Vein Specialty Centers and will exclusively dedicate his practice to the evaluation and treatment of patients with venous disease and perform office-based minimally invasive vein procedures at our Bridgeport Village practice located in Tigard, Oregon.Dr. Gilster received a BA in Chemistry from St. Olaf College and then attended Tulane University School of Medicine, where he graduated with honors. After medical school he completed his internship and residency in Surgery at Oregon Health and Science University. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and also a member of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. He lives in Portland with his wife and four boys.
