Dr. James Downey obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979 from the College of Holy Cross in Worcester, MA in the field of Russian Language. He attended Tufts University and Medical School in Boston, MA, graduating in 1983. Dr. Downey joined the Air Force, training at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, TX and at the School of Aerospace Medicine-Primary Care at Brooks AFB in San Antonio. He was an Air Force flight surgeon from 1984-1988 and then returned to Wilford Hall to complete his urology residency. Dr. Downey's professional interests include cancer and benign diseases of the prostate and kidney, stones, impotency and incontinence. Away from the office Dr. Downey enjoys boating, traveling and cooking.
