Dr. James Cullington, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon at University Medical Center Brackenridge and is certified by the American Board of General Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He graduated from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and subsequently completed an internship and residency at the Walter Reed General Hospital in Washington, D.C. He completed his plastic surgery residency with a focus on microsurgery at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Cullington has received several honorable appointments including his time as Chief of Surgery, Vice Chief of Staff and Chief of Staff, respectively, at University Medical Center Brackenridge. Dr. Cullington has an extensive list of awards and honors recognizing his continuing service in the medical field including a Presidential Citation Award for Outstanding Humanitarian Achievement. Dr. Cullington's areas of expertise include breast reconstruction, complex wounds, facial and hand reconstruction, cleft lip/palate surgery, fractures of the hand and face as well as treatment of congenital anomalies.
