I was born and raised locally! I grew up in Temple City, attended Arroyo High School, and loved watching the TV show "Emergency" during the 70s and 80s. I was a good student, and was fortunate to earn a college scholarship to attend USC. I enjoyed learning about science and how the human body works, and that led to my decision to pursue pre-med training at USC. After graduating from USC, I completed a Master's degree in anatomy, and then entered medical school at .....USC! Yes, I am a die-hard Trojan through and through! It was during medical school rotations that I discovered the excitement and satisfaction of treating patients at the time and place when they needed it the most: during an emergency. I had discovered my niche, and completed my emergency medicine residency training at L.A. County-USC's General Hospital in 1995. I then was recruited and hired by Kaiser Permanente to work in the Baldwin Park facility in July 1995, and I have worked in Baldwin Park's ER since then.
