Ivan Jacobs, M.D. is a Founder of the Eye Care & Surgery Center in New Jersey. Dr. Jacobs is a Board Certified and Fellowship trained New Jersey Ophthalmologist who specializes in Cataract Surgery as well as the medical, laser and surgical treatment of Glaucoma. Dr. Jacobs earned his undergraduate degree Phi Beta Kappa from Duke University and his Medical Degree cum laude from Jefferson Medical College. He completed a Residency in Ophthalmology at New York University as well as a Fellowship in Glaucoma at New York University. Dr. Jacobs holds the academic title of Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) and has served as President of the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology. In addition to being a member of the American Glaucoma Society, he is only one of a few surgeons in New Jersey to have been successfully certified in cataract surgery by the American Board of Eye Surgery. As a well recognized New Jersey cataract surgeon, he is acknowledged as a leader in minimally invasive â€œsmall incision, no needle, no stitch, no patchâ€ outpatient cataract surgery in New Jersey using only â€œeye drop anesthesiaâ€ as well as bladeless laser cataract surgery in NJ. In addition he is committed to helping NJ patients with cataracts to become independent of eyeglasses, reading glasses and bifocals through the use of advanced technology near vision presbyopia correcting lens implants such as the TecnisÂ® Multifocal Lens Implant (IOL), the AcrySofÂ®ReSTORÂ® Multifocal Lens Implant and the CrystalensÂ® Accommodating Lens Implant, as well as providing lens implants for astigmatism including the AcrySofÂ® Toric Lens Implant and the TecnisÂ® Toric Lens Implant. Dr. Jacobs provides advanced technology eye care diagnosis and treatment to his patients. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
