Dr. Ira Biderman has been treating the families of Howard Beach since 1981. He obtained his dental education from New York University College of Dentistry in 1979. Since finishing dental school, Dr. Biderman has stayed abreast of new technology and methods by taking over 1500 hours of continuing education courses. In 2001 he became accredited as a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, which has been achieved by less than 10% of dentists in the United States. This is a prestigious designation obtained by taking more than 500 hours of continuing education courses and passing a rigorous all day examination. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association and the Queens County Dental Society. He is also certified from the International Center for Laser Education in using a soft tissue laser. He has been married to his beautiful wife Meryl since 1976, and have 2 children, Rachel and Jonathan. Rachel is an academic and career counselor at LIU Post and Jonathan has followed in his father%u2019s footsteps and is a dentist and joined the practice in 2008. Meryl and Ira enjoy taking cruises and taking long walks on the beach.
