Brief Intro

Dr. Mittelman helped pioneer facial implant surgery, facial cosmetic laser surgery, and techniques for facelift surgery. The Mittelman Extended Chin Implants and the Mittelman Pre-Jowl Implants are the most popular implants of that type in the United States and are used all over the world. Dr. Mittelman also pioneered the use of the Carbon Dioxide Laser for cosmetic surgery in the mid 1980s. Recognition In honor of his contributions to the areas of facial contouring, rhinoplasty, laser cosmetic surgery, as well as other areas of facial plastic surgery, Dr. Mittelman received the Mark Rafaty Award "for exceptional contributions to the field of Facial Plastic Surgery" by the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery. He has previously received the %u201DTeacher of the Year%u201D award at Stanford for his resident instruction and lectures in facial plastic surgery. Dr. Mittelman has been very active in the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has been chosen by his peers to be on its Board of Directors and to serve as its Treasurer for four years. He was also a founding member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
