Dr. Shafie received his certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Prosthodontics fromBoston UniversityGoldman School of Dental Medicine. He is the founder of the Center for Oral Implantology at theJohns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, where he has trained many dentists in different aspects of implant dentistry. Dr. Shafie currently is the president of theAmerican Institute of Esthetic and Implant Dentistry in Washington, DC. He is a faculty member of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Washington Hospital Center where he teaches postgraduate implantology courses. In addition, Dr. Shafie isthe author of a book on Implant Supported Overdentures which is under print production by the Blackwell Munksgaurds. Dr. Shafie lectures nationally and internationally about innovative aspects of implant dentistry and is renowned for his unique way of making dentistry fun to learn for both specialists and general dentists.
