Dr. Gerard Abreo graduated from St. John’s Medical College in Bangalore, India and completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. After completing his residency, Dr. Abreo served as a fellow in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and then accepted a position as Assistant Professor in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Texas. During his tenure at the University, Dr. Abreo published multiple academic articles and abstracts, including publications in the prestigious Journal of the American Medical Association and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. He joined Southeast Houston Cardiology in 1999 and works predominantly in our Webster office. He consults with patients on a regular basis at the Clear Lake Regional Medical Center and Methodist St. John’s Hospital and holds active board certification in internal medicine and cardiology.
