Dr. Abbo completed pre-medical training at Harvard University. He received his medical degree from the University of Iowa, Iowa City. Dr. Abbo completed an internship at Highland-Alameda County Hospital, Oakland, Calif. and received his Ph.D. degree in biochemistry at the University of California, Berkeley. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa. Dr. Abbo has completed three years of research in Gerontology at the VA Hospital in Iowa City. He has been practicing internal medicine in his private practice office with his wife in La Jolla since 1979.
