Dr. Galioto received his medical degree and completed his pediatric internship and residency at New York Medical College. He completed his pediatric cardiology fellowship at Texas Children's Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine, and served as an exchange fellow at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School-Hammersmith Hospital in London. Dr. Galioto is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Academy of Pediatrics and its Section on Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, where he served as an elected member of the Executive Committee. Dr. Galioto served as the director of pediatric cardiology at Georgetown University and is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, the North American Society for Pediatric Exercise Medicine, where he also served as president for two years, and the European Pediatric Work Physiology Group. He is a clinical professor of pediatrics at Virginia Commonworth University and Georgetown University and a member of the Association of European Pediatric Cardiologists. Dr. Galioto has received research grants to evaluate the re-breathing method of measuring cardiac output, to study ventilatory dynamics in infants and children, and to evaluate cardiopulmonary performance during exercise. He is the author and co-author of over 150 scientific papers and abstracts, and has presented many papers at national and international scientific meetings.
