Dr. Shipley is board certified in general surgery and he also performs thoracic and vascular surgery. He is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, he completed residencies in general, thoracic and cardiac surgery at University hospitals there. He moved to Minot in 1979. Through the years he has established a broad surgical practice, including pulmonary (lung), esophageal and pacemaker surgery as well as all types of general and laparoscopic surgery. He's a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
