Fernando Bayo III received his undergraduate training at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in both History and Chemistry. He then entered Emory University School of Medicine, receiving the M.D. degree in 1989. After serving a one year medicine internship, primarily at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Bayo began his Radiology residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Memphis. After completing his residency in 1994, he extended his training with a cross sectional imaging fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center completing his post-graduate training in 1995.
He joined Chattahoochee Valley Imaging, P.C. in 1995 and now serves as its President. Dr. Bayo is Board Certified by the American College of Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society, and the Radiological Society of North America. With his fellowship, which included image-guided intervention, and with a special interest in angiography, he was accepted into the Society of Interventional Radiology. As a fellowship trained cross sectional imager, he practices general diagnostic radiology with a special interest in image-guided intervention and angiography.
