Eugene E. Curry, MD, joined the W. B. Carrell Memorial Clinic in 1996. After graduating from George Washington High School in San Francisco, Dr. Curry completed undergraduate work Cum Laude in Biomechanical Engineering from the University of California at San Diego. Dr. Curry graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and completed orthopedic residency at Scott and White Memorial Hospital and Clinic, Texas A&M University in Temple, Texas. His residency included rotations in Houston at Ben Taub County Hospital Trauma Service and Shriner%u2019s Hospital for Crippled Children. During residency, Dr. Curry was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and was awarded a fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee under the supervision of three widely respected leaders in adult foot and ankle reconstructive surgery - Dr. John S. Gould, Dr. Michael J. Shereff, and Dr. Jeffrey E. Johnson.
Dr. Curry is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. Dr. Curry%u2019s clinical interests include adult reconstruction of the lower extremity with a special focus on occupational, traumatic, and athletic injuries to the foot and ankle and lower leg, such as Achilles tendon disorders and injuries, correction of bunions and hammertoes, sports medicine and arthroscopy of the foot and ankle, correction of deformity and failed arthrodeses through internal and external fixation, tendon transfers, reconstruction of ruptured tendons, as well as foot and ankle problems associated with rheumatoid arthritis, degenerative arthritis, diabetes, and related disorders. The coauthor of a book chapter on tendon transfers in the lower extremity, Dr. Curry has presented original research papers at a variety of national medical conferences. Dr. Curry also serves as an orthopedic subspecialist consultant to the Dallas Cowboys Football Team and for the Dallas Stars Hockey Team, as well as the Southern Methodist University Athletic Department.
Married and the father of four, Dr. Curry enjoys travel and spending time with his family. Dr. Curry, who has privileges at Baylor University Medical Center, Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas and North Central Surgical Center, is fluent in Russian and medical Spanish.
