Dr. Hagen is the Medical Director of the NICU on the St. Paul campus. He attended medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed a pediatric residency at the university of Minnesota. He then completed a Perinatal - Neonatal Fellowship at the University of Florida. Dr. Hagen attended the Cardiovascular Research Institute at the University of California, San Francisco where he completed a 2-year research fellowship. He was then employed at Oakland Children's Hospital before returning to St. Paul in 1988. His areas of interest include quality assurance and improvement, reducing nosocomial infections, and medical education of pediatric residents and neonatology fellows.
