Edward S. Ashman, M.D. joined Nevada Orthopedic & Spine Center in 2003. Dr. Ashman is fellowship trained in the surgical treatment of athletic injuries of the shoulder, knee, and elbow. He is currently on faculty as an Assistant Professor for The University of Nevada School of Medicine. Dr. Ashman is active in sports medicine at the highest level.
Dr. Edward Ashman was born in Johnson City, New York. He received a Bachelor of Science in 1992 from Cornell University, New York. Dr. Ashman attended Albany Medical College and received his Doctor of Medicine in 1997. His internship and residency in Orthopedic Surgery were completed at Albany Medical Center from 1997 to 2002. In 2003, Dr. Ashman completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Nirschl Sports Clinic Georgetown Medical Center in Washington, D.C. under the guidance of Dr. Robert P. Nirschl. During his fellowship, Dr. Ashman served as a team physician for the George Mason University football and basketball teams.
Since moving to Las Vegas, Dr. Ashman has continued his active involvement in sports medicine at the highest level. He cares for the professional athletes for the ATP Professional Tennis Tour, the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour, as well as for many of the largest and most popular shows on the strip, including those of Cirque Du Soleil.
