Interventional radiology has been at the forefront of the medical movement toward minimally invasive, image-guided procedures, and Dr. Douglas Markert has been at the forefront of our efforts to provide these procedures at Fauquier Health. As an interventional radiologist for more than a decade, Dr. Markert specializes in everything from uterine fibroid embolization to tumor chemo embolization to peripheral arterial angiography. He was also featured in Oprah Winfreys O Magazine for an article about using ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy to banish varicose veins. Board certified in diagnostic radiology and vascular interventional radiology, Dr. Markert understands the importance of putting our patients needs first.
