Dr. Kings career at The Childrens Hospital at Montefiore started in the Pediatric Critical Care Unit in 1993, and she joined the Pediatric Emergency Department (PED) in 2000. She enjoys the pace in the PED and the innumerable opportunities to teach medical students and house staff. She has taught Introduction to Clinical Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and has been a Master Teacher for third-year students during their pediatric clerkships. Dr. King has received two teaching awards: the Leo M Davidoff Society Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Teaching of Medical Students (2004) and the William Obrinsky Award for Excellence in Medical Student Teaching (2007). She received a masters degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology from Teachers College. She hopes to develop workshops for medical professionals that will teach them how to adopt healthier lifestyles and how to help their patients attain healthier diet and physical activity behaviors.
