Dr. Merchant graduated from Ahmedabad Medical School in 1973 and completed his general surgery residency at St. Agnes Hospital. He has been in private practice in Baltimore and Howard counties since 1980. Dr. Merchant has surgical privileges at Howard County General Hospital and St. Agnes Hospital. An excellent teacher and surgeon, Dr. Merchant enjoys working with the surgical residents at St. Agnes Hospital. Many times over the years, the surgical residents have chosen him as Best Attending Physician and Teacher. Dr. Merchant is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
