Brief Intro

Dr. Watt is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of retina and macular diseases. He was born in Chicago and raised in Iowa. As a child, he was influenced by his father who was an ophthalmologist. Dr. Watt received his B.A. in Economics from Dartmouth College. He completed his medical degree in Chicago at the Northwestern University School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Watt worked as a general ophthalmologist before returning to complete his retina surgery fellowship at the Illinois Eye Infirmary in Chicago. In 1990, he moved to Annapolis with his wife and children and founded Retina Associates, P.C. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, and the Maryland Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He has served as Chief of Ophthalmology at the Anne Arundel Medical Center and as a board member of the Maryland Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He served on staff at Johns Hopkins University and the Wilmer Eye Institute from 1990 to 2005. Dr. Watt enjoys caring for patients with complicated retinal surgical problems, mentoring his young associates, and managing the practice. He is an avid tennis player and snow skier and he enjoys boating on the Chesapeake Bay with his wife and children.
