David L. Rosenstreich, MD, is Director, Allergy and Immunology and Professor, Medicine at Montefiore Einstein. His clinical focus centers on allergic skin diseases, chronic sinusitis and asthma.After obtaining his Bachelor of Science from The City College of New York in 1963, Dr. Rosenstreich earned his Doctor of Medicine from New York University School of Medicine in 1967. He completed his residency in medicine at Einstein in 1969 before becoming a Clinical Associate at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, National Institutes of Health until 1971. Dr. Rosenstreich became a Senior Staff Associate until 1972 before moving to the National Institute of Dental Research, National Institutes of Health, where he was Senior Investigator until 1980.Building on his clinical focus, Dr. Rosenstreich’s research focuses on the relationship between decreased allergic capacity (immunoglobulin E deficiency) and susceptibility for developing a malignancy. His work has been published in 159 peer-reviewed papers, 64 invited articles and 4 edited books/monographs. Dr. Rosenstreich has been an editor for several scientific journals, such as the Journal of Immunology, Infection and Immunity and Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology.Dr. Rosenstreich is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Physicians, the American Society for Clinical Investigation and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. Dr. Rosenstreich has won numerous awards for his work, including the Leo M. Davidoff Society for Excellence in Medical Education Award in 2017. He has also been listed in Best Doctors in America, New York Magazine Best Doctors, New York Times Super Doctors, U.S. News & World Report Best Doctors and the Albert Marquis Who’s Who in the World and Lifetime Achievement Award multiple times.
