Koerber, DDS, Owner Dr. William R. Murphy, DDS The Dental Center @ Sears is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. William R. Murphy to our professional staff. With the addition of Dr. Murphy to our staff, we now are able to provide Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery services to our patients. Dr. Murphy attended San Francisco State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology in 1967. He attended Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. and graduated number three out of a class of eighty students in 1972. He completed a three-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Howard University in 1975 obtaining a Certificate in Oral Surgery. After thirty years of very successful solo private practice of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Oakland, he has joined our group multispecialty and general dentistry practice here in Concord. We look forward to serving the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery needs of our dental colleagues here in Contra Costa County. Dr. Murphy is Board Eligible and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Dental and California Dental Associations. He resides in the Contra Costa County City of Orinda and has interests and hobbies that include birdwatching, skiing, fishing, hiking, traveling, reading and community charity work. Dr. Murphy is married and has three adult children. Dr. Weilin Shih, DDS The Dental Center @ Sears is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Weilin Shih to our professional staff. Besides providing convential endodontic services, Dr. Shih provides a wide range of endodontic surgical services including molarapicoectomies. Dr. Shih studied Biochemistry at University of California Los Angeles and obtained a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at UCLA. At UCLA she was actively involved in dental education and community service. She was awarded first place for her research at the American Dental Education conference. She was also recognized for her excellence in operative dentistry. After graduation she continued her specialty training at Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She taught microsurgery as a clinical instructor for general dentists from all over the states. Dr. Shis is a board-eligible member of the American Board of Endodontists. At the American Association of Endodontists national conference she was awarded top honors for her presentation on the techniques to maximize patient comfort after endodontic surgery. Dr. Shih is actively involved with the dental community and focuses on the forefront of current research to provide her patients with the best care possible. She is a member of American Association of Endodontists, California State Association of Endodontists and the American Dental Association. Dr. Mullin is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and received a degree in Biochemistry from the University of California in Berkeley in 1972. He attended the University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore and graduated Magna Cum Lade in 1976.
