David P. Minichan, Jr., M.D., is a board certified general surgeon who joined Jefferson Surgical Clinic in 1964. A native of Roanoke, Virginia, Dr. Minichan received a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1951. He is a 1955 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He performed his internship at Walter Reed General Hospital in Washington D.C. in 1956. Dr. Minichan completed surgical residencies at Jefferson Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia; the University of Virginia Department of Surgery; and Andrews Air Force Base Hospital. Dr. Minichan is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
