Brief Intro

Dr. David Oyster, DMD, MS Dr. David Oyster, DMD, MS is the only Board-Certified Periodontist East of the Cooper. He graduated from the Naval Academy in 1974. After 5 years as a Line Officer (Supply ship and PT Boats!), he left the Navy for Dental School at the University of Florida, graduating in 1985. He then rejoined the Navy serving as a General Dentist for 7 years before going to Bethesda Naval Hospital to complete his Peridontics Residency and Master's in Oral Biology at George Washington University. He retired from the Navy in 2002. He specializes in the treatment of gum disease, dental implants, cosmetic gum enhancements and oral medicine/biopsy services. Dr. Oyster is an assistant clinical professor at MUSC Periodontics Residency Training Program. He enjoys boating, snow & waterskiing, and tennis.
