Dr Schmeling is chief of Surgery at Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota and a pediatric surgeon with Pediatric Surgical Associates. David has been on our staff at Children's since 1992, having completed medical school at the University of Minnesota, completed General Surgery residency at the University of Michigan, and Pediatric Surgery training at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. David's areas of surgical interests and newborn surgical anomalies and surgical oncology, the broad scope of Pediatric General Surgery. David is a member of the surgical committee of the National Children's Oncology Group, and is also a member of the Pediatric Surgery Board of the American Board of Surgery, and an examiner for the certifying examination for Pediatric Surgeons.
