Dr. Peterson specializes in arthritis and Minimally Invasive joint replacement of the hip, knee, and shoulder. He uses the latest technology, including Computer-Assisted or Computer Navigation and mini-incision methods, for joint replacement. He also treats general orthopaedic issues including sports and trauma injuries.
After earning a doctorate degree in pharmacy from Idaho State University, Dr. Peterson entered medical school and obtained a doctorate degree in medicine at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then performed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency in Akron and Cleveland, Ohio. He has also undergone additional prestigious fellowship specialty training in Adult Reconstruction and Total Joint Replacement.
Dr. Peterson finds great satisfaction in working with patients to improve their quality of life. He believes that sincerity is an important part of his relationship with his patients. He enjoys educating patients about their medical conditions and tries to present treatment options in a straightforward manner, allowing his patients to make informed decisions about their care. He takes time to listen to their history and generates a treatment plan specific to each patients condition.
Originally from Southeast Idaho, both Dr. Peterson and his wife Leiann are excited to be back home. They have five very active children, and together enjoy the many outdoor activities that Idaho has to offer including running, hiking, playing soccer and basketball, hunting, fishing, and camping.
