Dr. Welch began practice in Glens Falls in 1975 and joined the consulting staff of AMC in 1999. After six years of part-time practice in Saranac Lake, Dr. Welch choose to close his practice in Glens Falls and move to the Tri-Lakes area. He joined AIM&P, PC in July 2005 and schedules patients Monday through Wednesday in our Saranac Lake office. Dr. Welch considers developing long term relationships with patients and helping them to improve the quality of their lives to be the most rewarding aspects of his practice. He has special interest in prosthetics, myofascial pain syndrome and chronic pain issues. He and his wife Mary reside in Lake Placid where they enjoy outdoor activities including cross country skiing, cycling, hiking and gardening. Dr. & Mrs. Welch both completed the Lake Placid Ironman competition, and this spring enjoyed a cross country bicycle trip cycling from the state of Washington to Maine. Dr. Welch received his MD in 1971 from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his internship at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany and his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Albany Medical Center. Dr. Welch has been a clinical assistant professor at Albany Medical Center since 1976.
