David Simpson, M.D., graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa., and received his medical degree from the University of the Northeast in Tampico, Mexico. He completed his family medicine residency at Christiana Care Health System in 1995. While a resident (intern) he received the Service of Excellence Award. After completing his residency, he practiced in the community and continued to work with the residency program as a preceptor in the Family Medicine Center. In 1997 Dr. Simpson completed a geriatric fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. He is board-certified in family practice with a certificate of added qualifications in geriatric medicine. Dr. Simpson is an assistant professor of family medicine at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He received a Congressional Tribute from the Delaware State House of Representatives in appreciation for his work with the elderly, and he was recognized as a Top Doc in Delaware Today magazine in October 2009. Dr. Simpson has written and published two book chapters on common geriatric diseases. He is very interested in the care and welfare of the elderly in the community and is committed to teaching the residents and medical students the importance of a good geriatric medicine foundation. Dr. Simpson enjoys travelling and photography. He is married and is the proud father to Risa.
