Dr. Humbyrd received his bachelor of science degree at Huntington College where he was a chemistry major, and was inducted into the Who’s who of American College. He went on to complete his medical degree at the University of Michican, where he was elected President of the medical school honor council, and was invited to complete an orthopedic residency at William Beaumont Hospital, in Royal Oak, Michigan, where he presented and published several original academic papers.
As past chairman of the Kent Hospital orthopedic department, and Chief of Orthopedics at the Rhode Island Group Health Association, Dr. Humbyrd has provided important leadership to the Rhode Island orthopedic community. In addition, he has served as Brown University Medical school clinical faculty. With over 20 years of clinical experience in Rhode Island, Dr. Humbyrd has established an excellent reputation for compassionate and skilled care of general orthopedic conditions with a special interest in joint replacement, arthroscopy, and fracture care.
