Dr. Zhao is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She completed her residency training in general psychiatry at Sanford medical school in South Dakota. She worked in different behavioral health settings from clinic affiliated to university to community health and county hospital.
She worked with patients with a variety of behavioral health conditions during the previous 12 years. Dr Zhao has extensive experience in both psychopharmacology and different psychotherapy modalities. She is experienced in mood disorder, psychotic disorder, trauma and stress-related disorder, impulse control disorder, substance use disorder, eating and sleeping disorders.
Dr Zhao respects patients' unique condition and creates an individualized treatment plan by fostering a comforting and supportive atmosphere. Patients improve by gaining insight to develop healthy relationships, manage stressors, engage heathy lifestyle, develop or/and restoring self-esteem, and empower ego strength. Dr Zhao creates a collaborative and mutually respectful approach that enables patients to reach treatment goals.
