Dallin Young, DDS
I have always wanted to work with children. Pediatric dentistry is particularly rewarding because I get to be a part of children’s first impression of dentistry. Helping children by easing their pain so they can eat, sleep, and concentrate literally changes their lives! I always strive to make dental check-ups fun and motivating children to take care of their teeth, making every day rewarding in our practice.
Education
In order to become a pediatric dentist, I attained the following certificates in my education:
Bachelors of Science in Human Biology, Brigham Young University (BYU)
Masters of Science in Zoology, BYU
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), University of Iowa College of Dentistry
Pediatric Dentistry Specialty Training, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin
Continuing Education
I continually update my knowledge of pediatric dentistry by participating in local and national continuing education courses. In 2009, I became board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. As a part of my continuing education, I am also an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Idaho State Dental Association.
In the Office
Our office is completely focused on children. Â We enjoy making each dental visit interactive and fun! Kids here have fun wearing cool sunglasses, pushing the "magic button" on the chair, and getting to assist the dentist by holding the tooth mirror!
Our team has developed their skills in making dental visits comfortable and fun for children of all ages. We use specific terminology for dental instruments and procedures to reduce children's fear of the unknown. Because we see many nervous children every day, our staff is trained and confident to help each child overcome their fears.
I enjoy being a dentist in our community, and I often get to see our patients outside the office, which is a real treat. I love it when my patients run up to me in the grocery store and show me where they lost a tooth!
Family Life
I was raised in Utah, and am proud to live in Twin Falls. My wife, Susan, and I have four wonderful children. In my spare time, I enjoy playing competitive tennis, mountain and road biking, fishing, camping, and catching and raising butterflies with my children!
In the Community
I feel it is important to be active in our community. For that reason, I am an annual participant in the national "Give Kids A Smile" day. On the designated day in February, I spend time providing dental treatment to children who do not have dental insurance and are unable to afford dental care.
I also participate in the South Central Public Health and College of Southern Idaho Hygeine Program community clinic. Twice a year, this clinic provides free or low cost dental care to citizens in need. Our practice is an active sponsor and supporter of community events, including the annual Perrine Bridge Festival, Bridgeview Estates trick-or-treating, swimming lessons, as well as local children’s sports teams and individual athletes.
