Craig E. Moe, M.D. is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor where he received a B.A. in Biology in 1995 and was designated an Angell Scholar. He then graduated with from the University of Illinois in Peoria's College of Medicine with his M.D. in June 1999. Dr. Moe served both his internship and residency at University of Illinois, Chicago from 1999 through 2004. Concurrent with his education, he received the University of Illinois Clinical Research Conference Award in April, 2002. Dr. Moe joined the physicians of Milwaukee Clinic of Orthopedic Surgery, Ltd. In August of 2004. Professionally Dr. Moe is affiliated with the Orthopedics Departments of St. Luke's Medical Center, St. Francis Hospital and West Allis Memorial Hospital. He is also a member of Wisconsin Medical Society and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
Still single, Dr. Moe has a passion for golf! His orthopedic interest in the areas of total joint replacement, fractures and sports medicine parallels the problems many active sportsmen experience. However, only elite athletes usually have excessive activity that leads to joint pain, he points out. "In the general populationÂ…more active patients tend to have less joint pain than more inactive patients," explained Dr. Moe, with "a lot of joint pain related to a patient's weight and thus, overall stress on the joints." Dr. Moe stays attuned to advancements in technology and biomaterials as well as development of minimally invasive techniques, which make shorter recovery periods possible. He prefers to have his patients make informed decisions regarding their treatment so that they can feel confident together that pain can be properly alleviated and mobility
improved.
Dr. Moe welcomes new patients and referrals, and performs independent medical examinations for industrial and legal purposes.
