He is widely regarded in the medical community as the leader in providing breakthrough joint replacement technology for the young active patient and was the first Orthopaedic surgeon in Boise to offer Birmingham Hip Resurfacing. He travelled to Birmingham, England to train with the developer of the procedure, Dr. Derek McMinn, FRCS.Dr. Poole was also one of the first surgeons in the area to utilize computer assisted surgery and is the first surgeon in the region to use knee replacements that are specifically manufactured to match each patient to provide a custom fit joint replacement.
