Pediatrician Christopher Hammond, MD joined PeaceHealth Medical Group in 2007. Prior to moving to Oregon, he lived in Albuquerque where he served as a pediatric hospitalist, caring for children who were hospitalized at the Children's Hospital of New Mexico. He continues this interest here by participating in weeks of hospitalist work at Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend and helping to establish an inpatient pediatric sedation service. He is fluent in Spanish and also has a special interest in breastfeeding advocacy. He has published newspaper articles, given lectures, as well as assisted in passing breastfeeding legislation. Other areas that are important to Dr. Hammond include judicious use of medical testing and antibiotics. He is board certified in pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He currently is accepting new patients from birth through age 18 and works at the Downtown Eugene Main clinic during the week and RiverBend Pavilion on Fridays. He enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife, Elise, and five children (Connor, Julia, Dylan, Owen and Tessa). In his free time, he enjoys, pretending to be a farmer, fishing, playing basketball and golf, but is often being tackled in the yard by his kids, who think they are Denver Bronco football players. He is a recent convert to Duck fandom thanks to his mentor, Dr. Buzz Harlor.
