Carswell who is the founder and owner of Collaborating Minds LLC is a double board-certified psychiatric and family nurse practitioner with over 10 years of experience in treating psychiatric and substance abuse issues in children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Chasity specializes in a variety of mental health disorders including Major Depression, Generalized Anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Bipolar Disorder, Schizoaffective Disorders, and Schizophrenia. What makes Dr. Chasity different from other providers is her genuineness, expertise, and her “collaborative approach” to treating clients. She does not only tell you what should be done but instead works together with you on the ideal treatment plan to improve your mental health. You will always see Dr. Chasity and would not have to worry about seeing a different provider at every visit as this occurs with most other large mental health offices.
Dr. Chasity J. Carswell started her career in 2000 after graduating from Central Georgia Technical College with a Practical Nursing Diploma. She followed with her Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in 2005 and 2009 from Middle Georgia and Macon State College respectively. Dr. Chasity graduated Magna Cum Laude from Macon State College and was a President’s List Scholar. Dr. Chasity wanted to become more educated to provide exemplary nursing care. She then attended Albany State University and received a Master of Science Degree in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner in May 2014. Dr. Chasity did not stop there and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with a concentration in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in August 2019 from Brandman University in Irvine California.
Dr. Chasity has worked in a variety of settings including medical and psychiatric outpatient, inpatient crisis stabilization units, substance abuse detoxification, geriatric inpatient psychiatry, and psychiatric consult liaison. Dr. Chasity has always had a passion for mental health. She has a proven track record in maintaining and stabilizing her clients.
