As a physician for Pain Consultants of Atlanta, Dr. Achilles practices a comprehensive and multimodal approach to treating pain. He has experience treating a variety of conditions, including chronic neck and back pain. Dr. Achilles has a special interest in interventional and medical management of cancer pain.
Dr. Achilles grew up in Lynchburg, Virginia. He graduated summa cum laude from Wake Forest University and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. After graduation he elected to attend the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. He completed his Internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia, Roanoke-Salem Program in Roanoke, Virginia. Dr. Achilles then moved to Atlanta where he completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Emory University. Following his residency, Dr. Achilles completed a specialized fellowship in Pain Medicine at Emory University.
Dr. Achilles is a board certified diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Achilles also has a subspecialty board certification in Pain Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia. In addition, Dr. Achilles is a member of the Georgia Society of Anesthesiologists, American Medical Association, and International Spine Intervention Society. He is currently accepting new patients into his practice.
